“You always have to remember that bullies want to bring you down because you have something that they admire.  Also, when you get made fun of, when people point out your weakness, it’s an opportunity for you to rise above. ” stated by Zac Efron.  Also stated by Zac, “I’ll never try to put on a fake image.”

After 6 months, they were doing so poorly, so they decided to open a 2nd store.  “It wasn’t that costly and we figured we could tell the publice “We were so successful we’ve opened a store””.  Apparently it worked!

“I’ve missed more than 900 shots in my career.  I’ve lost almost 300 games.  26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.  I’ve failed over and over again in my life.  And that is why I succeed.”

“Luck” by Bick Horowitz

With a pile of 300 resumes on his desk and a need to pick someone quickly, my boss told me to make calls on the bottom 50 and toss the rest.  “Throw away 250 resumes”, I asked, shocked.  “What if the best candidates are in there?”.  My boss responded “You make a good point, but then again, I don’t need people with bad luck around here.”

Britney Spear’s Lyrics to “Stronger”

“Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don’t.  Belive that everything happens for a reason.  If you get a chance, take it.  If  it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said that it’d be easy; they just promised it would be worth it.”  unknown.

“Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she’ll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she’ll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.”  unknown.

Excerpt from Principles of a Course in Miracles

When we are motivated by the desire to sell, we are only looking out for ourselves.  When we are motivated by the desire to serve, we are looking out for others.  Miracles shift us from a sales to a service mentality.

Oprah has a Marcus Buckingham podcast.  Here’s somethings he says that I believe.

  • Build on my strengths and manage around my weaknesses.
  • You are the best identifier of your strengths.  Do you look inward enough to realize them?
  • Plan your strong week.  A perfect week doesn’t fall into your lap, you need to plan it and focus on things and activities that play on your strengths.

Believe in Yourself.  Author unknown.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there.  To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to be.

You never know who these people may be but when you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.  And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize your potential, strength , will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason.  Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.  Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.  Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.  Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life.  The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiances can be learned from.  In fact, they probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and to open your heart and eyes to little things.  Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experiance it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen.  Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to.  Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself for if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you.  Create your own life and then go out and live it.

“If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see are obstacles.”

When we ask for advice, we are usually looking for an accomplice.
Marquis de la Grange

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

An AMAZING kid!  J

Adam Bender, 8, is one of several kids who plays catcher in Southeastern’s rookie league at Veterans Park. What makes Adam stand out is that he plays one of the toughest positions on the field with only one leg. Because of cancer, he had his left leg amputated when he was one. Adam doesn’t use a prosthesis, and only uses crutches when he reaches base for the Astros. Charles Bertram

Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger men and women.

Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks.
That the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle.
~ Philip Brooks
Life = Risk
To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle ~ Walt Whitman

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried  piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he
decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,  he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred – Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries – Most never happen.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

NOW …………Enough of that crap….The rest of the story . . .

The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.  The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in  agony from septic shock.

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men…..

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in..

They stand up to injustice.

They don’t take “no” for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give..

Celebrate Who You Are!

Everybody lights up a room – some when they walk into the room and some when they walk out!

“We do not choose to be born.  We do not choose our parents, or the country of our birth.  We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death.  But within this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live.”  Joseph Epstein

“Throw yourself into your work and your life like a pebble into a pond and notice the ripples!”  Ben Zander Boston Philharmonic Orchestra

October 12, 2010 – – It’s the birthday of the longest-serving First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, born in New York City (1884) who said, “A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.” She began a secret courtship with her cousin Franklin Delano Roosevelt. During World War I, she went off to Europe and visited wounded and shell-shocked soldiers in hospitals there. Later, during her husband’s presidency, she campaigned hard on civil rights issues — not a universally popular thing in the 1930s and 1940s.

After FDR died in 1945, she moved from the White House to Hyde Park, New York, and taught International Relations at Brandeis University. As anti-communist witch-hunting began to sweep the U.S., she stuck up for freedom of association in a way that few Americans were brave or bold enough to do. She chided Hollywood producers for being so “chicken-hearted about speaking up for the freedom of their industry.” She said that the “American public is capable of doing its own censoring” and that “the judge who decides whether what [the film industry] does is good or bad is the man or woman who attends the movies.”

She said that the Un-American Activities Committee was creating the atmosphere of a police state in America, “where people close doors before they state what they think or look over their shoulders apprehensively before they express an opinion.”

In 1947, a couple years before the McCarthy Era had reached full swing, she announced, “The Un-American Activities Committee seems to me to be better for a police state than for the USA.”

She once said, “We have to face the fact that either all of us are going to die together or we are going to learn to live together and if we are to live together we have to talk.”

And, “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.”

The Winner is always part of the answer; The Loser is always part of the problem.

The Winner always has a program; The Loser always has an excuse.

The Winner says, “Let me do it for you;” The Loser says, “That is not my job.”

The Winner sees an answer for every problem; The Loser sees a problem for every answer.

The Winner says, “It may be difficult, but it is possible;” The Loser says, “It may be possible, but it is too difficult.”

When a winner make a mistake, he says, “I was wrong,” When a Loser make a mistake, he says, “It wasn’t my fault.”

A Winner make commitments; A Loser makes promises.

Winners have dreams; Losers have schemes.

Winners say, “I must do something;” Losers say, “Something must be done.”

Winners are a part of the team; Losers are apart from the team.

Winners see the gain.  Losers see the pain.

Winners see the possibilities; Losers see the problems.

Winners believe in win/win; Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.

Winners see the potential; Losers see the past.

Winners are like a thermostat; Losers are like thermometers.

Winners choose what they say; Losers say what they choose.

Winners use hard arguments but soft words; Losers use soft arguments but hard words.

Winners stand firm on values, but compromise on petty things; Losers stand firm on petty things, but compromise on values.

Winners follow the philosophy of empathy; “Don’t do to others what you would not want them to do to you;”  Losers follow the philosophy, “Do it to others before they do it to you.”

Winners make it happen; Losers let it happen.

Hi this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to
know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get
guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
